He joined the lab as an undergraduate research assistant in January 2020, and joined the lab full time after graduating. Outside of work he enjoys golfing, working out, and cooking.

Cutaneous Translational Research Program

Erika hails from Miami, Florida and currently works with Dr. Garza and his lab to conduct clinical research at the Department of Dermatology’s Cutaneous Translational Research Program in the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of South Florida and her Masters of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Alabama. Prior to joining Hopkins, Erika was a dermatology nurse practitioner at USF Health’s Department of Dermatology in Tampa, FL. In her free time, Erika loves to travel, spend time in the water, and go on outdoor adventures with her husband and two sons.

He studied viruses during undergrad at Virginia Tech and as a specialist at Johns Hopkins, before realizing his love for Regeneration/Computational Biology.  In his free time he’s either fixing his house, going on birding trips or playing guitar in a PhD band!

Eddie is a Mexican MD doing his Masters on Biotechnology at JHU. He worked on sexual development disorders before coming to Baltimore to learn about regenerative technologies and stem cells.

He likes listening music and watching song contest shows, as well as hanging out with his friends

Sung Kim

Sung was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea until 2016. Then, he went to the University at Buffalo for his undergraduate studies and graduated from there with BS in Biotechnology and minor in Pharmacology & Toxicology.

He likes to eat good foods / watch movies in his free time and occasionally travel if possible. While he also love playing sports like basketball, after injuring his ACL, he had to stop playing. He is open to any sport suggestions that does not involve knees too much!

His interest is in stem cells, and is looking forward to getting involved in research developing novel, regenerative therapies.
